Sponsored Bike Ride for Charity
You are probably aware by now that 2 years ago I was unfortunately diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Up to 120,000 people suffer with this condition in the UK and a cure is still 5 to 10 years away. More importantly, NOT enough is being done to highlight the condition.
I would really like to help find a cure by raising some money by joining together the 2 cricket clubs that I have played for in Sussex, those being Fletching and Eastbourne Cricket clubs. I have many wonderful memories of playing for both teams –
Nothing will beat the day in 1997 when, as part of arguably the best Eastbourne side to play at the Saffrons, we beat Harrogate to become the Champion Club of England at the finest ground of them all, Lords !!
To then get to the final again at Lords in 2000 was a feat that most club cricketers can only dream of.
Not only did I enjoy 10 years of cricket on the Saffrons at a time when Eastbourne were very successful, I also achieved success with Fletching winning the East Sussex League in 2002. I am now in my 5th season with the club having been captain for 2 years and I hope to be able to carry on playing for the foreseeable future.
