Fletching 2nd XI drew with Linden Park 3rd XI
Ali Horscroft maintained his 100% record of losing the toss and was again grateful when Linden Park captain Charlwood asked Fletching to bat.
Once more openers Trevor Brown and Andy FitzGerald got off to a solid start putting on 47 before Trevor was unluckily run out at the non strikers end after a deflection off the bowler. Andy FitzGerald was in great form and his 93 from 83 balls included 16 fours.
With 1st team regulars Mark Horscroft and Ed Smith finding this level of cricket too challenging, it was left to Andy Horscroft to ensure Fletching reached maximum batting points with a classy 35. Fletching declared on 212-6 from 43 overs.
After tea (which again was fantastic) Fletching set upon bottom of the table Linden Park unleashing Sam Newman and Eddie Smith 3-45. However, the Linden Park batsmen were up to the challenge and although not scoring quickly were never in any real trouble early on. Progress for Linden Park was slow, with only B Rabbetts getting amongst the runs scoring a magnificent 111 before being bowled by Ali Horscroft.
With time running out a flurry of wickets ensured that Linden Park closed on 191-7.
