A great win for the team in their first match. The batsmen played very sensibly, hitting the bad balls for four and keeping out the good balls. One learning point would be to make a clear call for a run, do not dither, but then run your bat in – we lost a couple of short runs.
In the field we were very sprightly indeed, cutting down any chance of quick runs for Newick. The bowling was accurate and of a good length, making it hard for batsman to hit boundaries without playing across the line.
